Mission Statement

At Maxiss Modern we recognize that large retailers have the capability of being non transparent with quality levels and the aftereffects of mass production, which negatively impacts the environment and increases labor exploitation. These are conveniences for their profits only and the wellbeing of patrons and employees are jeopardized.   

When people visit Maxiss Modern, we are inviting them to experience shopping and events that are designed to centralize the benefit of the community. We want people to learn how powerful small business is at connecting everyone with common values of high quality products, circular economics and the need to feel cared for and appreciated. 

So that through local commerce and natural resource protection, we may continue strengthening culture, arts and the uniqueness that makes our lives vibrant. 

Our Goals

• Maxiss Modern will make 10,000 sales by 12/31/2024 because people should feel empowered when they connect with a business, knowing it will produce a positive outcome for themselves, their community and the environment.

• We learn about local vendors' stories, labels, products and practices to educate our clients on all the different ways sustainability is incorporated into the products.

• We are welcoming guests to participate by being present for the experience of shopping and attending our events because we know a safe and clean environment without pressure to purchase can relieve stress.

  The Space

• Maxiss Modern is part of the revitalization efforts of the north Riverwalk area of downtown. We have invested in the renovations of the commercial space on Broadway because we believe that community participation is more than just shopping, it is about providing entertainment, events and skill building opportunities.
